About the event
This year Tatton Park will once again host a Japanese Summer Matsuri Festival in association with the Japanese Embassy, Japan Society Northwest, UCLAN and JETAA.
This year’s Matsuri will showcase some of the best authentic Japanese cultural experiences in the Northwest.
Come along to see the tea ceremony, listen to Japanese music, watch performances such as Taiko drumming and kendo sword-fighting, and take part in traditional art & craft activities such as calligraphy, origami, and Japanese dance workshops.
Some of the leading specialists in Japanese culture in the UK will also be present to answer your questions about the country and its people.
All taking place amongst the cherry trees and against the backdrop of Tatton Park’s very own, fabulous Anglo-Japanese Garden, one of the oldest and most authentic in the U.K.
